EFT / TFT
(Emotional freedom technique / Thought Field Therapy)

Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) is a type of psychological acupressure that is based on the idea that negative emotions are caused by a disruption in the body's energy system. EFT involves tapping on specific acupuncture points on the face, upper body, and hands while focusing on a particular negative emotion or issue. The tapping is believed to help restore balance to the body's energy system and reduce the intensity of the negative emotion.

EFT is often referred to as "tapping" and is considered a form of energy psychology. It is sometimes used as a standalone treatment, but it is more commonly used as an adjunctive treatment in conjunction with other therapies, such as cognitive-behavioural therapy or psychotherapy.

EFT has been claimed to be effective for a wide range of emotional and physical issues, including anxiety, depression, phobias, pain, and weight management. However, the evidence for its effectiveness is mixed, and more research is needed to determine the extent to which EFT is effective for these conditions.

Thought Field Therapy (TFT) is a similar treatment that involves tapping on specific acupuncture points while focusing on a specific issue or problem. TFT was developed by psychologist Roger Callahan and is considered a form of energy psychology. Like EFT, TFT is often used as an adjunctive treatment and has been claimed to be effective for a range of emotional and physical issues. However, the evidence for its effectiveness is also mixed, and more research is needed to determine its effectiveness.
